Flight Training

A minimum of forty hours of flight time are required by the FAA in order to get your private pilot's license. Most people get their license in approximately 60 hours. Within the required hours, a set amount of instructional, solo, cross county and night flights are needed.

Generally, each lesson costs between $130 and $160.00 depending on the type of airplane that you choose to learn in. These lessons allow for approximately one hour of total flight time.

You will first need to pass an FAA Medical Exam. This is a simple physical that ensures you have no serious medical conditions that would impair you ability to fly. Next, you will need to pass a Private Pilot written exam. This test consists of sixty multiple choice questions. You must pass this test with a 70% or higher. Finally, you must pass a practical test with an FAA designated examiner. You will need to demonstrate most of the maneuvers that you learned during your training.

Leading Edge Aviation offers two options for paying for training,. You can pay as you go with cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). If you choose to prepay for your flight lessons with cash or check, Leading Edge Aviation offers a prepay incentive of 5% for all payments of $1000 or more. For example, if you deposit $1000 into your account, the account will be credited $1050.00.
